Coupling Selection Tool

Enter torque, bore and misalignment type to find the best coupling series in 3 steps. Not sure? Our engineers will help you choose for free.

Note: this is a quick recommendation. Actual selection also considers speed, inertia and mounting space. Send us your motor model and bore, and we will recommend the exact part number for free.

Selection FAQ

Is the selection result accurate?

This is a quick recommendation based on torque, bore and misalignment type, covering 90% of common cases. For high-precision applications, send us your motor model and bore for an exact part number and drawing.

What if I don't know the torque?

Torque ≈ 9550 × power (kW) ÷ speed (rpm). Or simply send us your motor model (brand + spec) and we will look up the parameters and select for you.

Can the bore be customized?

Yes. All series support custom bores and keyways, machined to your drawing, with 1-piece MOQ.

Is selection free?

Yes, selection consultation is completely free. We help you buy right the first time to avoid downtime and rework.

Before You Order: Six Checks

You do not need to read every datasheet — run through these six points in order and your requirement is clear in a minute.

1 · Torque and service factor
T (N·m) = 9550 × power (kW) ÷ speed (rpm), then apply a service factor (1.5 for servo positioning, 2.0+ for frequent starts). Rated torque per model is on the model wall.
2 · Bore and keyway
Measure the actual motor shaft and screw shaft diameters and confirm the keyway standard. We stock bores Φ3–78 mm in clamping and set-screw types.
3 · Misalignment to absorb
Check parallel, angular and axial misalignment separately. Diaphragm and jaw couplings compensate differently — the wrong choice loads your bearings.
4 · Backlash and stiffness
Positioning axes (CNC, ball screw, index table) need zero backlash: choose diaphragm or bellows. General drives can use jaw couplings (elastomer gives slight backlash).
5 · Speed and inertia
Confirm maximum operating speed; on servo axes also check inertia matching — a heavier coupling slows the response.
6 · Environment and space
Temperature, corrosion and dust decide the material (stainless or aluminium); then measure the available axial length and tool clearance at both ends.

Not sure about one of these? Send us equipment photos, the motor nameplate and your drawing — we will check it for you. You can also submit an inquiry with incomplete information; Jason answers personally.
